About me

Greetings, my name is Dr. Nicole Gilbertson Psy.D, please call me Nikki. Forget about my 17 years of experience, my 5 years of doctoral training, and my 2 years of neuropsychological assessment training. Consider me someone walking this same path we call life alongside you. No matter how long we may walk together, I will consider it an honor to be there with you offering a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, some gentle guidance, a story here and there; but mostly, a caring person who isn't going to judge you, guilt you or blame you for where you are. I want to be with you as long as I can to help you get even one step closer to where you want to be.

I have many years of experience working with various age groups, men and women alike, facing the struggles of life: depression, anxiety, grief and loss issues, trauma, and significant life changes whether that be contemplating career changes, moving, divorce, marriage, etc. I also have a passion for working with some issues unique to women: issues related to infertility, prenatal/postpartum anxiety and depression, miscarriages or still birth losses, eating disorders, body image, domestic violence, and PTSD.

My goal for our time together would be that you feel respected, understood, empowered, informed, equipped, and supported. I want to know you and I want you to feel comfortable being known. I want you to feel respected, never judged or criticized; but that doesn't mean I won't challenge you and your thinking. I want to understand your perspective and help you develop better self awareness, so that you understand you better too! I want you to feel empowered to make the changes you need to make to live the life you deserve. I will provide you stories, treatment approaches, resources, and together we will develop specific plans to help you reach your goals. You will develop the skills you need to feel confident in tackling the challenges in your way. And, I want you to know you are not alone. I am right here with you, not just cheering you on from afar, with you.

Therapy isn't always easy, but you are worth it and you deserve to live the best life you can live.
