My name is Nicole Sommersville and I'm a wife, mommy, Air Force veteran, and Marriage and Family Therapist. I have over 7 years of experience working with diverse clients of different backgrounds, lifestyles, and stages of life. Some of the most common concerns I have assisted my clients with are anger management, anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationships (family and intimate), and goal attainment.
As a person and therapist, I would describe myself as loving, tough, fair, and informal. I provide a non-judgmental space and encourage my clients to speak freely and be their authentic selves, don’t sugarcoat, don’t censor; just be who you are so we can help you reach your goals.
I have adopted a blended approach of Bowenian and Alderian theories as a foundation of my practice, and I employ cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused techniques, motivational interviewing, and reflective listening skills as primary tools for treatment.
While I can't guarantee that I can help you turn your "lemons into lemonade" I will be there to help you accept the lemon for what it is and explore the many options you have with the lemon.
Thank you for looking at my profile, I look forward to meeting you.

This was my first time trying therapy and Nicole made it such an incredible experience! She was able to pinpoint my issues in a short amount of time and helped me work on strategies to overcome them. She always made me feel heard and seen and I greatly appreciate her expertise and candidness. Such an amazing therapist and vibe in general!
Nicole is, by far, the best therapist I have ever had. She listens, she challenges me, she is nonjudgmental and is a wealth of information.
Nicole is an absolute angel and one hell of a woman. For me, starting therapy was ... strange at first. I would like to describe my reasonings for starting therapy as an instrument of "fine tuning" to my life. The unfortunate reality is that I am poor & lower class, so therapy is one hell of a financial 'splurge' for me. Yes, I have read self-help books, and yes, they can be useful, but I don't foresee myself gaining emotional support from tear-soaked pages... Needless to say, I felt incomplete without that special 'someone' to filter my thoughts & feelings to. (I am human after all). Nicole makes me comfortable and puts me in an optimistic mood every time we speak. I am given the necessary tools, guidance and worksheets I need in order to gain an understanding for ALL of my situations - (and hey, I am a sucker for some homework and independent studies!). I implement everything she teaches me and I am excited to report my findings and results with her each and every week. I finally feel like I am understanding myself on a deeper level, which is making the process feel incredibly worth it. I love this woman to bits - highly recommend. : )
She is awesome; she is my warrior and my therapist - finally someone who fights for me and I don’t always have to be the strong one
Nicole is an insightful counselor that shares a variety of material and advise on how to recognize and process behavioral patterns. I find her to be resourceful, informative and comforting.
Helping me every step of the way I really appreciate how caring she is. I see my light bad it is still far away I can at least see it now
She is fantastic!
I have had more progress with Nicole in a short few months than I’ve had in years previously! I already feel like a better version of myself.
Nicole is very insightful. She always manages to assist me in working thru whatever issues I have going on day to day. She knows exactly what questions to ask me so together we can craft a solution. I am really glad I was connected with her thru BetterHelp.
