About me
"Healing takes courage, and we all have courage, even if we have to dig a little to find it." - Tori Amos
I am a Chicago based licensed Social Worker who believes that all people have inherent value and strengths. I strive to focus on healing the whole person: mind, body, and soul. Most of my experience is working with clients who have a history of trauma and abuse such as: domestic violence, sexual abuse, grief and loss, and witnessing violence. I also have experience working with depression, anxiety and parenting issues. I believe that humor is a powerful tool for healing, and try to incorporate it into my practice when appropriate. My commitment to my clients is to be unconditionally understanding, to help them uncover their strengths, and offer a relationship that affords healing.
I received my Master's degree from Jane Addams College of Social Work at University of Illinois at Chicago. Since then, I have continued my studies through certificate programs and continuing education opportunities. I utilize evidence-based interventions to help my clients achieve the best possible outcomes. I involve my clients in deciding on goals and writing objectives for their treatment plans and continuously maintain a strengths-based focus. I want to help you find the courage from within to begin the healing process.
