Aloha! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Hawai'i. By taking the first step of being open to pursuing counseling, you have already displayed your strength, courage, and motivation in addressing your struggles. Therapy is a safe and confidential space where you can explore your inner life without judgment or shame. I offer a practical, no-nonsense approach to addressing your presenting concerns. I focus on a strengths-based model, which includes building a therapeutic alliance. You, as the client, determine the issues and direction to be worked on in our sessions. Together we will work to identify and build upon your strengths to increase your ability to cope and heal. Nobody knows you better than yourself, and collaboratively we can develop your insight and resilience to shape the emotional and spiritual life you desire.
Working in the counseling field since 2012, I have experience working in multi-cultural communities as well as addressing issues of addiction, trauma, anxiety, grief, and co-dependency. My clinical experience and training also include working with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

She is very caring and understanding. She is an amazing therapist.
I was really nervous, still am, but Nina is very supportive for a first time therapy user. She’s not pushy and allows me to talk without interruption, yet when she picks up on certain things asks questions to delve further. In just 2 sessions, despite not completely focusing on the reasons for the therapy, with her help I’ve already picked up on things that I may not have thought of before in a quest to understand myself better
Nina is incredible! I am so thankful I've had her guidance as I navigate my broken marriage. She is supportive, insightful and helps me make sure that I am taking care of myself. It's easy to get lost in this process of heartache, lifestyle changes and grieving. My calls with Nina are something I look forward to every week and I always feel better afterward. She's a safe, non-judgemental space where I can share freely, break down and work through the really hard things I'm facing.
Nina is such a wonderful gift. She’s seriously transformed the way I see myself and the world around me. She works with me in a way that works for me and I know she genuinely cares. I look forward to our sessions every single week. I’m so grateful for her!
Great listener, great advice!
I feel very lucky to have Nina as a counselor. She is very professional, great at listening, kind, smart and authentic. Every time with her I learn how i can relate to myself and the difficult situations in my life in a more positive way.
I've only had a couple sessions with Nina, but I thoroughly enjoy working with her. Not only is she so understanding, but she also pushes me to dig deeper to figure out the root cause of some of the things that cause me pain. She gives great perspective to issues that I would not have otherwise considered. Nina is great, and I definitely look forward to our sessions.
Nina is very kind and patient. I feel understood and she has helped me gain clarity on my stresses and worries.
Nina was so professional and used a variety of resources and tools as well as her expertise to help me through my hard times. Her recommendations on books and workbooks to help ease my anxiety were spot on and have helped tremendously. She responds daily and sometimes twice a day which is really good for counselors on this app. She really listened to my personal concerns and gave me the confidence and resources to start taking control over them.
She is so sweet and professional! I’ve only been meeting with her for a short time now but I can already see and feel the improvements we’ve made. I am very grateful for Nina and how she has helped me.
