Hi there. I have been a licensed family therapist in the state of CA for over 40 years so maybe I have one of the great jobs where senior citizens are appreciated! I received my bachelor's degree in Humanities from USC and my masters through Azusa Pacific College in Social Science with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy. My theoretical approach in a combination of family therapy modalities, existential theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and specialized training in Type A Behavior (compatible with anger management struggles) through faculty of the Meyer Friedman Institute in San Francisco. I have also studied John Gottman's work and include it in my repertoire.
Currently, the majority of my work is telehealth and, especially with the pandemic, I believe this is the safest platform for us all. My expertise includes issues with early childhood trauma, including sexual abuse, couples' conflicts and communication, working with seniors struggling with health and family issues and personal growth and self esteem challenges. I've also worked many years with issues around both depression and anxiety. If you are not sure, please ask and I'll be honest if I don't think I'm up for the challenge.
