My name is Olivia Sanchez, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with 14 years of experience in the state of Texas. I received a Master’s in Community Counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2005.
As a solution-focused therapist, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. While we can’t change difficult situation of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life.
By applying complementary therapeutic approaches and techniques, we will unearth long standing behavioral patterns or negate perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life. If you are looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you’re ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.
My career in counseling started at a non-profit agency working with child victims of crimes where I addressed various issues from physical and sexual abuse, self-mutilation, and substance abuse.
I later began my work in geriatrics behavioral health working in long term health care facilities where I gained expertise in personality, adjustment, mood, thought and neurocognitive disorder such as Dementia and Alzheimer’s as well as end of life issues.
The geriatrics company I worked for also had an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) division where I worked as well and acquired strong short-term Solution-Focused Brief Therapy skills counseling various populations on issues of depression, anxiety, substance abuse, marital/couples, end of life and psychotic disorders.
I then began a private practice in Garden Ridge, Texas 8 years ago where I currently work addressing many of the same psychological issues that I have gained expertise in.
I have strong interpersonal skills, work ethic and problem solving abilities and consider myself a Person-Centered psychotherapist. I have a rich spectrum of expertise in a variety of areas and consider myself an eclectic, Client-Centered psychotherapist tailoring my treatment modalities based upon the needs and goals of my patients.
I have also consulted with primary care physicians (PCPs) and psychiatrists when needed, to provide the best treatment possible for my patients. It would be my great pleasure and honor to serve you and your psychological needs.

Responds promptly and truly listens. Sometimes I just feel like I'm rambling and she is able to pull out the parts that need to make sense and helps them make sense.
Olivia is so wonderful and supportive. I came to her in a time of great need and she is helping me address several issues going on in my life simultaneously. I can tell she sincerely cares about me and my well-being. I also like that she doesn't try to push any decision on me, she just helps me figure out possible ways to handle a situation and then reminds me that at the end of the day it is MY decision alone to make. Great counselor.
I love that she checks in on me when I haven’t written her back in a couple days. It makes me feel like she truly cares!
