About Me

My name is Onyi (Oh-Knee) , thank you for taking the time to read my therapist profile. I'd like to share a little bit more about myself in hopes that I am a good match for you.

I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology in 2012 and my masters degree in Social Work with an emphasis in medical Social Work in 2015. I've been practicing for 5 years and I've had the opportunity to work at two prominent hospitals and one major health science graduate university in the Boston and Houston areas. Before obtaining licensure, I worked with undergraduate and graduate students from two ivy league universities in the Boston areas. I specialize in working with young adults ages 18 to 35 who are having difficulty dealing with life transitions, stress/anxiety, self-esteem, and relationship issues (romantic or platonic). I also have extensive experience working with clients who are living with a chronic illness, those who are grieving, clients in hospice, or clients that are facing terminal illness and caregivers.

My preferred therapy modality is narrative therapy in conjunction with problem-solving techniques. The sessions we have are yours, they are your opportunity to share whatever’s on your mind or weighing on your heart. It’s my job to support you, guide you, and help you dissect, and hopefully resolve, the issues you’re facing.

I truly believe everyone can benefit from therapy. But it's up to you to take the time, dive in, dig deep and join me, so I can guide and support you. It's not an easy thing to do, but guess what?... by coming to this site and reading this you've already taken a big step in the right direction.

She is honest, open, and best of all an active listener!

Onyi seeks to listen to your concerns and to provide compassion, empathy, and honesty when it comes to irrational fears, anxieties, and issues. I appreciate the honest approach Onyi takes when it comes to her therapeutic style. She will call things out for what they are, in love and with empathy.

I have been speaking with Onyi for approximately a month and I could not be happier with the services she has offered. I feel understood, she is engaged and she provides a safe “judgement free” zone. She is simply amazing! Thanks Onyi!
