About me

Welcome to the world of possibilities! Entering counseling can be an exciting but scary time so congratulations for getting here!
I am taking this opportunity to share with you a bit about myself as you decide on where you would like to go with counseling. I have been in the field since 1989, first in a mental health facility and then in private practice. I am a licensed clinical social worker with certification to counsel people with Personality Disorders. Because of both a nursing background and a clinical social work background, I am uniquely qualified to work within the mind-body- spirit concept if that is what seems to work best for my clients.
Having said that, I function under the belief system that clients are generally the experts on their lives and will lead the therapy content and process based on their needs. I generally use Solution Focused Therapy and Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies but have experience in many other humanistic therapies that can also be used. Honestly, creative therapy is a mix of approaches that are uniquely designed to maximally assist clients to organize, problem solve so they become be empowered to find joy in our challenging world.
I have also worked In Belize since 2005. I taught social work and nursing as well as worked at a mental health facility focusing on at risk youth and private practice. I believe that these experiences have allowed me insight into multicultural counseling. I have worked with people including but not limited to Mestizo, Creole, Garifuna, Maya , and Expat clients. Each brings their own experiences and we have worked through the challenges facing their unique lives.
On a personal note, in my free time I love the sea! I stand up paddle, snorkel, dive, In my more quiet moments I read and cook.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and I look forward to working with you.

I have been working with Pamela for a little over a year now and she has been amazing. She has been flexible with my schedule and with being able to meet more often when needed and less when things are feeling manageable. She has been amazing to work with.
