Hello! My name is Pamela Mallette. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois. I received my Master's degree from Trinity International University, where I graduated summa cum laude, and I have over a decade of experience providing therapy. Counseling has never felt like "work" for me, because I find great value and purpose in walking alongside others to help them become the best versions of themselves.
As your counselor, I believe it is my job to provide a warm and authentic environment in which you feel safe to discuss anything that might be troubling you. No topic is off-limits in counseling, and together we can go beyond the surface to uncover both blind spots and hidden strengths. I incorporate a variety of treatment approaches into my work (including Internal Family Systems, existential, and cognitive-behavioral), but I believe counseling centers primarily around the therapeutic relationship. When trust develops and you feel truly heard, understood, and unconditionally supported, you will be able to move forward to a happier, healthier life.
Over the years, I have developed several areas of special interest and expertise. I have a passion for working with individuals who were sexually abused as children, especially if the abuse resulted in dissociation or amnesia of some kind. To that end, much of my post-graduate education has been centered around understanding and treating trauma, with a special emphasis on the differences between normal memory and traumatic memory. I also love working with clients who are interested in faith-based counseling, and I am happy to provide therapy from a Christian perspective.
It's not always easy to ask for help, and I'm so glad you took the first step. I look forward to meeting you, learning about you, and helping you!

Pam is amazing
Pamela is the best! I have felt comfortable and heard in a way that I never could’ve made work ever before! I have come such a long way with her guidance and empowerment!
When I chose to work with Pamela I was not sure how the therapy relationship would work. After having some unsuccessful counselors that wasn’t a good fit for me for various reasons on this platform, I was drawn to select to work with Pamela.
Working with Pamela has been an amazing experience so far. Pamela is extremely empathetic and listens to your concerns without imposing judgment. She provides helpful resources and really spends time to get to know you. She responds to messages thoughtfully and empathetically.
Although we just started working together, we have had few live sessions and I really connected to her. I haven’t ever felt like I had to hide anything from her or be ashamed or guilty about anything. She accepts me for who I am. She is very open, understanding, and welcoming.
I am also really grateful that she is very comfortable doing a Faith based / Christian counseling approach as that has helped me to grow in that area of my life.
Pamela is a blessing in my life and I am so grateful for her ability to handle sensitive subjects, like trauma, in a very calm way. I look forward to working with her long term and I am so grateful she is part of my healing journey.
