About me

Pam Sheldon, LCSW (LISCW)

Welcome. I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 15 years of experience. My goal is to provide you with a non-judgmental platform where you are heard and motivated to achieve your desired goals. It is important to me that we establish a safe and open client/therapist relationship because I firmly believe this to be a determinative factor in achieving your desired success.

I received my Bachelor’s degree from Armstrong Atlantic State University, a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of South Carolina, and a Juris Doctorate from New England Law | Boston.

I have practiced in a variety of settings including emergency rooms, acute care hospitals, crisis stabilization hospitals for children and adolescents, and in psychiatric residential treatment facility for children and adolescents.

I specialize in the use of cognitive behavioral therapy, a therapeutic approach that examines how our feelings often lead us to react based on faulty thought processes and/or perceptions. Through empathetic listening and focused journaling exercises, I will help you learn to identify these faulty thought processes and perceptions and replace them with healthier and more positive responses. "Feelings are not Facts!"

My goal is to assist you in viewing your life through a variety of perspectives and in the process empower you to attain a healthier and more meaningful life.

Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to make a difference in your life - lets begin our work together!

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Pamela Sheldon. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Pam is a caring person who listens to what is happening in my life and is helping me make a plan to get better and be a better person for myself and my children.

Written on Oct 04, 2020 after therapy with Pamela for 2 months on issues concerning relationship issues, trauma and abuse, and intimacy-related issues

Pam is honest and genuinely interested in helping you heal. She is understanding and kind. Some therapists feel the need to spend so much time in your past, it takes forever to get to your current problems that you actually want to work on. Pam lets you guide the conversation so you can be open and target what is the root of your issue(s). I wish therapy was not so expensive so I could delve deeper into my problems. But, at these rates, 8 sessions is about all I can afford.

Pam has been very responsive and thoughtful in our conversations thus far. Looking forward to working with her more over the coming weeks.

She helped my organize my endless chaotic anxious thoughts into a short list of what I need to focus on and what I need to ignore. She was real but kind.
