About Me

Congratulations on your decision to move forward!

My name is Patricia Aniakudo. I have over 30 years of experience in the field and am happy to walk with you on your path as you develop and meet your goals. A little bit about me; I have Master’s in Clinical Psychology from UW-Milwaukee, as well a Master’s in Social Work Loyola University of Chicago. I am licensed as a professional counselor (LPC), a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC), and as an Independent Clinical Supervisor (ICS). I have worked in every setting imaginable from Regional Medical Centers, Hospitals, Community Centers, Residential Treatment Facilities, Weight Loss Centers, Mental health and/or Substance Abuse Clinics, Methadone Clinics, Schools, Prisons, Universities and Colleges. My published research focused on “ism’s”. What it is like to be one person in a group of many people who are different from you on status; any status, e.g. race, gender, age, ability, sexual orientation, sexual identification, health status, etcetera. I have lectured nationally on the topic on the Psychology of women, as well as the stigma associated with Substance Use Disorders for women and for men. Over the years I have trained and specialized in multiple areas such as: gender specific treatment for women, gender specific treatment for men, filial therapy (a parent child therapy), trauma informed and trauma specific treatments including responding to and managing chronic community violence, Criminality, Violence in Partnerships and Families, Gambling Use Disorder, a multitude of evidenced based practices or treating Substance Use Disorders as well as Tobacco Cessation, Parenting as well as Co-Parenting for never married, divorced and/or blended families, reunification for estranged families working to reunite, and individuals and families involved in multiple systems. I have specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Biofeedback as well as Neurofeedback.

I have been working in Telehealth since 2016. I am a firm believer in making treatment accessible to any and all who have made the decision to move forward, to work toward thriving as they have shown that they can survive simply by making the call for the appointment. I believe in a client-centered, strength-based approach which is based upon the knowledge that no one knows you and your family better than you do. Our work together will be based upon the choices that you make given the new skills you develop and the opportunities that we uncover together.

I'm so thankful to have had her as my therapist for just about a years time, and so sad I must switch since I moved to another state.
She is forever patient with me, very wise, trusting, good-natured, good-humored, and an overall positive presence. I felt genuine connection being her client.
She's also intuitive and knows when and where to nudge you in the right direction for growth, and always respects any boundary I put down.
Also an experienced lgbtq+ ally, she understood and was respectful to me and my identity.
Overall, one of the best therapists I've had! Thank you Patricia!

Patricia is absolutely wonderful. She really understands me and challenges me in a good way. I have never felt she has judged me or talked down to me. She really is great.
