About Me

Hello, My name is Patricia Cross and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor living in Northwest Florida. For the past 8 years I have worked in a variety of settings with client's that have experienced trauma, traumatic grief and often are suffering from symptoms associated with PTSD, which include depression, anxiety, anger, and the re-experiencing of the event. I received my MS from Troy University in Clinical Mental Health and have been trained extensively in evidence-based approaches. I believe the first and most importance aspect of counseling is building a strong trusting therapeutic alliance between therapist and client. This relationship is vital to a client’s progress and ability to benefit effectively from therapy. Feeling safe with your therapist is the key to overcoming a sense of loss of power and control. My goal is to provide a supportive relationship that will assist the client with creating short term and long goals and work toward living a better life!

Patricia is very experienced. She knows what she's talking about and is really approachable. She will remind me of the things I need to remember to keep me on track and tells me the things I need to hear. She's very personable. My sessions with her have been forward moving towards my goals and my betterment. I really feel she listens and cares about what I say. I would recommend her 10 out of 10! Thank you Patricia!

I appreciate Patricia's ability to sit with my in my discomfort and just hold space, her insight, experience, and expertise on trauma work, and the kind patience she demonstrates during our work together. It helps me model these things for myself. I am grateful for the ability to work with her and would recommend her to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and compassionate therapist.

Patricia is great at explaining the science behind what is happening to our physical and neurological systems when our minds are on edge. She's very soothing and patient. I haven't worked with her very much yet, but from what I've seen so far, I'd recommend her.

In the few short weeks I've been working with Patricia, she has helped me immensely. Just her demeanor and obvious respect is so motivating! Her counseling style is so refreshing & honest while keeping me accountable for making change. Everyone should have a counselor like Patricia.
