About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Washington State with ten years of experience working with people navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse, and life-changing situations. It takes incredible mental and physical effort in order to be done successfully and therefore tests a person's ability to challenge irrational beliefs.
My approach is solution-focused, client-centered, and strengths-based. I assist clients in identifying and challenging harmful thoughts and replacing them with a more realistic, healthy perspective. I work with individuals or couples to utilize the main components of cognitive behavioral therapy, behavioral therapy, and mindfulness-based therapies. Cognitive therapy focuses mainly on thought patterns as responsible for negative emotional and behavioral patterns.

When working with clients, I make the therapy experience safe, respectful, authentic and affirming. You are the narrator and navigator of your life. You are the expert with unique values and needs. I enjoy working with clients open to making changes and creating meaningful fulfillment.

I have more than 15 years of experience in social services working with a range of people experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, family conflict, and symptoms of severe, persistent mental illness (SPMI). Over the past five years, I have worked in private practice with a wide range of mental and behavioral health needs. I can collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team – psychiatrists, primary care, and social service agencies.

Locating a therapist whose personality and style will assist you in developing the appropriate skills is essential but necessary. I look forward to helping those to effectively pursue their values and explore what keeps them from being the best version of themselves. Today is a good day to start.

Patricia and I have only had one formal session so far but both before and after that session she has sent emails to me that serve to nudge me to think! As a busy wife, mother and grandmother I have so much to do and my mind is full with the worries and plans of everyday living. Patricia’s emails remind me to think about the subjects of our sessions which is timely and so very effective. Clearly Patricia is a skilled and experienced therapist. I’m enjoying our sessions.

She's straightforward and speaks honestly, which is something I really needed. Someone to confront my coping mechanisms and make me take responsibility for myself and my anxieties. I love her approach and mindset surrounding therapy and emphasis on self-help.
