About Me

I am a marriage and family therapist licensed in Texas with over 20 years of experience working with individuals, couples and families. I have worked with clients with a wide range of issues including depression , but I have worked primarily with relationship and marriage and family issues. I also have done premarital counseling and I managed a behavior program for an autistic child from age 2- 20.

My counseling style is warm and interactive. I am non judgmental and I have a good sense of humor. I love people, and I practice unconditional positive regard. I don’t use stigmatizing labels. My approach is client centered and combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic, and rational-emotive therapy.

If you need help, help is available and I believe people can change because I have seen individuals, couples, marriages, and families change. I look forward to working with you.

I’ve been speaking with Patricia on and off for the last 6 weeks to help me process the grief I was feeling after my Grandmother’s death. We spoke on the phone a few times and I feel that she gave me all the tools I need to move forward with my life, and to manage my emotions without them sending me into a destructive spiral. Thank you so much Patricia, I really enjoyed speaking with you.

Patricia has been a wonderful find for me on BetterHelp. I haven’t been on the app for long so can’t comment in terms of long term benefits, but it really helps talking to and messaging with Patricia when I have some concerns. She does turn my thoughts around into more clear and positive ones. Patricia is a lovely, calm and present person and an experienced therapist from what I have glimpsed from our sessions together.

She is very knowledgeable and good at listening. She will call me out when I need to be called out and has a great sense of humor. She feels like talking with an old friend.

I really appreciate Pat's approach. She asks targeted questions that help identify an issue, and then she works with me on multiple ways to address that specific issue. I've been to counseling before, and never before have I made so much progress so quickly. Thank you, Pat!
