About me

Sometimes we take our mistakes or wrongs too literally. We might assume, that we should focus on our mistakes and failures. It is no wonder we expect to be judged and rejected. Using words like “wrong and defects” does not allow us to gain an understanding of our past or our present. Hearing those words or reading them automatically triggers feeling shame or become self-critical. Rather than thinking about right and wrong, I will help you discover your strengths and limitations without judgement or blame. You are more than your mistakes or wrongs.

My name is Patricia Mills, a License Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I have been a counselor for the past 14 years. I have experience conducting individual, couples, and group therapy, in-office and online with clients presenting with depression, anxiety, relationship and parenting issues, and a wide range of challenges including grief/loss, insomnia, addiction, trauma, abuse, bipolar, as well as trauma attachment issues and crisis.

You will learn how to overcome your emotional distress and manage your emotional reactions and heal from your trauma story. For best results, I use an integrated therapeutic approach that addresses motivation, resistance, behavior, life skills, problem-solving, and relationships. Most of all, I am here to support you through your journey to emotional wellbeing.

I enjoy working with my clients to discover their strengths, achieve their goals, and overcome life’s obstacles. I focus on helping you find and believe in yourself and teach you to accept yourself for who you are right now.

Patricia Mills is an excellent therapist. She took the time to assess not only what is causing me distress in my life, but also my knowledge of psychological concepts, what my short and long term goals are, and how I would prefer to work together going forward. Patricia is an wonderful communicator and an even better listener. She put me at ease immediately, and was extremely receptive to my ideas, without being afraid to challenge me when necessary. I would recommend Patricia as a therapist to anyone who is looking for somebody open-minded, compassionate, warm, clever, and professional.

I've only had one session with Patricia but talking to a stranger can be a scary experience and I felt very comforted by her. I felt like she listened to all my concerns and genuinely wants to see me grow in this process.
