My name is Patricia but I really prefer to be called Pat ( Patricia makes me shiver like I used to when my parents used that name, YIKES!) I have many years of experience as a Clinical Social Worker but more than that I was born with the heart of a Social Worker (at least I've heard that since I was five years old and used to drag home all the sick kitties and puppies, hence the "PATRICIA!") I believe in the goodness of people and that with guidance and encouragement anyone can be their best.
I graduated from the New York State University at Buffalo and am also licensed in South Carolina and North Carolina. I have worked in the Addiction field, the Mental Health field, the Domestic Violence field, have been a county director and have developed programs for several agencies but my passion remains working one on one with people.
I believe all people are unique and thus, have I spent most years of my career continually learning the newest techniques and theories of providing the best therapies for my clients. I have an eclectic selection of helping techniques; most are anchored in the evidenced based cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical therapy which stem from attachment theory but I also use solution focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, Socratic Questioning and many other techniques that can be individually tailored to each person's needs. I create each treatment plan individually based on each person's unique presenting concerns and goal(s). I have a warm and compassionate counseling style using respect and sensitivity when providing encouragement, support and insight.
I would love to get to know you and what your needs are to help you be the best you can be; Work with me.

Patricia listens, understands, and helps me find ways to deal with my problems. She always answers me even if she is on vacation. I have grown to trust her and to love her and to look forward to our sessions. I am a hard case and she is dealing with me with such patience and care. I do not want to lose her. I am on disability and my insurance won't pay for online visits, but I pay because this is so much better for me and it is working.
She’s been great to communicate with! Loving that I made the decision to use better help
Pat is very easy to talk to. She really listens but also engages well. Also very knowledgable. I really look forward to our future sessions.
