About me

I have worked with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, addiction, and personality disorders over the past 8 years. Before focusing on the more challenging mental health issues, I was a school counselor for 9 years working with adults and their families. My primary modalities are person-centered, mindfulness, CBT, and DBT for personality issues. I have spent many years working with complex trauma and grief counseling. It would be my pleasure to help assist you in your journey to more stability in your life and in your mental health. You are the expert of your life but at times we need a partner to help us identify barriers to growth and in that, I can play a role to help you achieve treatment goals. I can use a Christian world-view if you desire in our work together.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Paul Runyan. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Paul is extremely eager to “hear” what I am saying and offer suggestions accordingly.

Paul is very attentive. I struggle with communication, and talking to people is hard for me, but he is a great listener. Sometimes I’ll have a session where it feels I can barely express myself but by the end of our sessions I always feel that the topics I bring up have been well addressed, and I always sign off with goals to complete, and material to reflect on.
