Hi my name is Paul and I am a fully Registered Member of the BACP and on the accredited register of counsellors and psychotherapists compiled by the BACP. I am an integrative counsellor with my own private practice. I use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic and Person Centred theories when working with clients.
I also have knowledge and further training in other theoretical modalities which can be drawn upon and utilised within our counselling work to suit your individual needs.
Transactional Analysis (TA), Gestalt, Solution Focussed Brief Therapy (SFBT), Mindfulness and Logotherapy.
I provide a broad range of services to clients including one to one therapy, and relationship issues such as communication problems, conflict, affairs, divorce and separation,I also work with individuals and people who may be suffering with anxiety, stress, depression, grief, trauma, break up of a relationship, suicide and self harm.
In addition I also have over 30 years of management experience to draw on if you are experiencing difficulties in work, with targets, coaching, or employment issues as I was also a union representative in addition and can seamlessly weave this into your sessions if these are concerns that you are facing that maybe causing anxiety.
I offer open ended therapy, which means you can see me short term or long term, based on your individual needs.
In a nutshell, the support of a Counsellor can help find ways to accept and make peace with the things we feel we can’t change, and make positive changes where we can. We can increase awareness that we have choices in life and deal with our troubles when they are taking over and affecting our lives in a negative way and this could be because of unresolved issues concerning grief, an inability to let go of the past, feeling overwhelmed with relationship problems, divorce, – the list is endless and complex because people themselves are complex and life can throw a multitude of difficulties our way.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Paul Stevens. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Paul was able to hold the space for recognition, awareness, development and transformation in a kind, compassionate, and professional way. He is natural, authentic, just a real human being, none of the diva-attitude you get with some therapists, but a humble, real man who listens, understands and gives you real world advise. Highly appreciate every minute he invests into helping and supporting me!
Paul is a great listener and very professional. He makes me see reality through new perspectives. Since the first session, I already came to impactful emotional rewiring of my brain. I can't recommend him enough, such a positive and patient person.
Paul is a great therapist
Paul is really great. I immediately felt a connection, not only he made mw feel heard but also picked up on the subtle things I mentioned and dug deeper. He also has a great sense of humour which makes every session a pleasure even if it is emotionally a difficult one
