Paul Voorhies , LCSW
About me
I am a 52 year old male psychotherapist based in Lafayette, Louisiana who has over 21 years of experience in private practice psychotherapy practice: I am a firm believer in what is perhaps Socrates’ most famous statement, “the unexamined life is not worth living” and enjoy helping my clients gain greater insights into themselves and their lives.
I am an adult specialist and work with clients experiencing mood spectrum disorders, anxiety and stress, grief and loss, life transitions, medical problems, and personality issues. In addition, I provide couples therapy.
I operate based on a tripartite model which recognizes the importance of psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and humanistic traditions and interventions. My personal style is warm and empathic, and it is second nature to me to put people at ease so that they may speak freely and honestly as they begin to deal with their psychological issues.
