I am a licensed clinical social worker who has had extensive experience working with individuals, families and couples struggling with a variety of challenges. My workplace experience involved treating both those who have struggled themselves with addictions and eating disorders, but also many of the problems that accompany them such as anxiety and depression, relationship issues, parenting issues and family of origin issues. I have also worked with those family members who struggle to understand and help their loved ones dealing with with these issues. As such, I am well-versed not only in 12-step philosophy and program, but also in other approaches including therapeutic community settings, cognitive behavioral therapy, humanistic therapies, motivational interviewing, structural family therapy and internal family systems therapy.
I've also had significant experience with individuals who struggle with the effects of having grown up in families in which their needs were not well-met, and are looking to explore their experiences and make changes that will help them to move forward in a more positive way. Often these clients struggle with anxiety and depression, relationship issues and challenges with their own parents, spouses and children.
As a "mature" woman, with family and experiences of my own, I believe strongly that blame and shame are destructive, and that self-understanding, self-acceptance (of past and present experiences and emotions) and healthy relationships are the key to overcoming the challenges and obstacles we face. I work with my clients in a supportive, interactive setting and aid them in establishing their goals, guiding them as they work toward achieving those desired outcomes.
I approach my clients with admiration and respect, understanding the courage required to begin working with a counselor, and the necessity to take cues from my clients as to how quickly we move forward and what areas we explore. I believe that my clients actually best know themselves and what they need. With that said, I also know that it is my job to be reflective, challenging, honest and encouraging. I appreciate the opportunity to be invited into my clients' lives and to share in their progress.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Paula Schneider. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
This is my first time in a therapy ever in my life and I have never thought I so much needed it. Paula just makes my ife so worth living. She is the best there is. Much love!
Paula is a fantastic therapist.
Paula is the best. She is kind and firm and has helped me tremendously through the last year.
I have begun therapy several times in my adult life and have never "completed" therapy. One of the primary reasons why I never followed through is because I never really connected with any of my therapists in the past. Another reason is because I had so many issues to work through that I have been labeled "a complex case" or I quit participating when the conversations became difficult to relive.
Paula's professionalism, knowledge, and kindness is unlike any I've ever experienced with past therapists. Her expertise has helped me immensely in coping with and accepting the sudden loss of my father recently. Paula is helping me navigate through various traumas throughout my life, while also helping me to remind myself to take care of myself.
I have recommended Better Health to a few colleagues and individuals close to me as well. I can honestly say that I have finally found the right person to help me learn the coping skills that I need and the self care that I deserve in order to heal from my past, live in the present, and look forward to my future.
I have benefitted greatly from my counseling sessions with Paula. She listens, I feel heard, and she helps me process things in a productive way. I would recommend her to anyone wanting to gain insight into their situation and who wants to begin making the changes that need to be made to improve their life.
She’s simply wonderful
Paula is very helpful and great to talk to. Happy I signed up.
It would be a understatement to say that I benefited from working with Paula, because when I signed up for therapy I was hoping to resolve a particular issue. Little did I know I was going to unlock many "blocks" existing my mind and gain so much clarity on so many aspects in my life. She is very personable, attuned, and funny. She asks brilliant questions, and has a way of helping me reach big realizations and conclusions that are now shaping an entire new way of thinking. I highly recommend her!
Dr. Schneider said to me a very important statement that no one had ever said to me before. She said that she would never push me to explore boundaries that I am not comfortable exploring, but will always ask my permission before diving deeper into different issues. Simply beautiful!
Paula asks good questions and is not afraid counseling someone in a very difficult situation.
Paula has been instrumental in me finally seeing and following my path in recovery. The past year has been a true revelation largely due to Paula’s help.
I’ve been working with Paula for several months now and she has been a fantastic support and we have achieved some real change. I never feel judged and this creates a space to always be open and honest - critical for any real progress. Paula is both professional but also personable and builds real rapport and trust. I would highly recommend working with her.
Paula is a great listener and she has so many great suggestions and recommendations for issues and or problems I have experienced. I really look forward to our next sessions.
Paula is thoughtful, patient, authentic, and extraordinarily insightful. Her perspectives are consistently thought-provoking, and her guidance is life-changing. Highly recommended (and appreciated).
I have severe anxiety, knowing someone is there when I can finally talk is amazing. So this is a small strength I can tell myself I have, to be able to reach out to someone who I know only wants to support me.
I have only been in counseling for a short time but Paula has been a great counselor. She listens and provides excellent feedback. I trust that she is very knowledgeable and will help me improve my life. I felt intensely better after just one session with her.
Paula is great. She listens and shows me the right path of finding my self. After having difficulties and problems with my marriage I lost myself. Didn’t know which way to go. Paula is showing me the tools to help myself and feel happy and healthy again. I would definitely recommend Paula Scneider.
I’ve only been with her a short while, but she has seemed very caring, well informed, professional and extremely helpful with my specific needs. I’m am looking forward to having her as my therapist.
Paula has been a true asset in helping me nail down the details of problems that I am currently working on. She can help with broad strokes if needed, but does a great job with listening and asking the RIGHT questions.
She has been the most wonderful counselor I could have ever met. She has been a life saver for me.
Paula is very supportive. She is quick at listening to my ideas and concerns and just as quick to provide feedback and a fresh perspective. This is important for someone like me because I like to do everything quickly. She has helped me relax much more quickly than I anticipated. It is amazing how much insight she seems to have with what I tell her.
I have been very pleased with Paula Schneider so far. She is a professional clinician. She listens intensely and her feedbacks are right on!
I have been talking to Paula for the past six months. She has been very supportive and I cannot overestimate how instrumental she has been in my healing. She helps me learn what I need to learn without specifically saying the words and there is great value in that. She is awesome and I would highly recommend her.
So far so good! I have a lot to get off my chest and vent about. Dr. Schneider helps with this! I have a terminal illness and she has been a great supporter of my new adventures. I'm a straight forward person and I don't have time to sugar coat things...the fact that she gets that and understands me is huge! I'm very happy that I switched to her! She gets me.
With each interaction with Paula, I come away with food for thought, some encouragement, and validation. I feel zero judgment after our exchanges, only acceptance. It is an honor to be honored in such a caring and professional manner.
Paula has been incredibly instrumental in affecting how I view my interactions with the world around me. Sometimes you just need an outside perspective to really show you how things are, and even though we've never met, and she doesn't know anyone I know, she still is able to take what I give her and turn it around into something helpful and constructive. I'm so grateful to have found someone to talk to who doesn't only listen and show understanding, but also gives feedback and suggestive helps for dealing with my issues.
She is awesome!!! She responds quickly and helps you think for yourself and come up with your own solutions. She is caring but also challenges you on things in a kind, respectful manner. My life is changing for the better!
My experience with Paula so far has been great. Although I started BetterHelp recently, I feel she is genuine and likes helping people through therapy. For me this is very important as I feel when you fully connect with something you are able to give 120%, and this is the way I have felt with Paula. She really goes the extra mile recommending additional tools such as books and sharing thoughts that make every message exchange a worthy one. Aside form that, she is insightful and kind. That completes her and makes BetterHelp an awesome tool for therapy. I cannot recommend Paula enough.
Paula is terrific! She is very insightful and compassionate. She is also very patient.
I've been in the traditional therapy setting and they never seemed to do much for me. But in my short time with Paula I've have gained so much more insight to myself than I could have ever expected. I'm not gonna lie, my sessions with Paula are hard work. But I know that she is working just as hard if not harder to help me. Sometimes it's as if she knows me because she sometimes can pinpoint how I'm feeling without me having to outright tell her. She takes the time to learn your personality and learn what is the best way to relate to you and to help you. I am so thankful for the BetterHelp app and for their system that matched me to Paula. And I'm thankful for Paula and her kind, caring and thought provoking words. She truly is the best!
My counseling experience with Paula has been extremely beneficial to me. She is insightful and thought provoking. She has provided me with a safe place to process my emotions without fear of judgement.
Paula has been very helpful over the past few weeks helping me organize my thoughts and identify the negative thought patterns that were holding me back. I feel very comfortable with her and I thoroughly enjoy our conversations.
I have been working with Paula for a few weeks now and greatly appreciate the insight and help she has provided me. She is always timely in her response, encouraging, and suggests resources that I never would have discovered on my own. Her patience and dedication have made a positive difference so far while using BetterHelp and I look forward to continuing to communicate with her!
Paula has provided some of the best feedback and guidance I've ever had! My experience with BetterHelp and Paula has been amazing.
Paula is a wonderful counselor. She's helped me so much, and I'll be forever thankful for her wisdom, patience, and understanding.
Good advice, timely responses, great communicator.
Paula has been a wonderful counselor. She really listens to what I'm saying, and her responses are so deep and accurate, I feel as if I've known her for years. She praises me for working hard during our sessions, and she always emphasizes that I have the power to heal myself, and she's here to help. I'm so grateful for everything Paula has done for me, and each session renews my hope and optimism for the future.
Paula has been a wonderful counselor. She has a knack for reading between the lines and really getting to the essence of the issue. She has helped me be more introspective and view my actions from a different light. I'm genuinely grateful to have Paula as my counselor.
