About me

I decided to return to graduate school for a master degree in counseling psychology after being an Occupational Therapist (OTR) for over 30 years. I have been practicing as a LMFT for 8 years now. Both of these careers have helped me have a better understanding of what interferes with your ability to function not only independently but interdependently.
When depression, anxiety, trauma or grief interfere with your life, your relationships may suffer both internally and externally. If your life seems chaotic or lacks meaning it can be daunting to deal with these on your own. We can deal with these challenges together. The courage to ask for help and enter into a therapeutic relationship is a powerful first step. It empowers you to discover your essence and begin to find meaning and purpose in your life.
I will work collaboratively with you to establish a trusting therapeutic relationship. This will allow you to trust your intuition and find the strength to take the necessary steps toward healing. My intention as a therapist is to help you discover what underlies your depression or anxiety by tapping into your imagination. I will help you explore ways to creatively express what is preventing you from living your life to the fullest. We will work together to develop goals to further your healing. You will have the opportunity to express your feelings in a safe and contained atmosphere as we begin this journey toward integration and wholeness.
I have facilitated groups using SoulCollage® and journaling to help people connect with deeper parts of themselves. My professional and life experiences have allowed me to understand and nurture those gifts that lie deep within each of us. It is these gifts which define your essence and provide meaning to your life.
