Hello. First, good for you for taking action to focus on yourself. My passion is to work in conjunction with people in order to live their best life and learn how to LIVE life instead of just surviving. I have been working successfully as Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) for the last 18 years. I believe we have everything we need inside of us however, our strengths become covered up with life experiences and challenges. I believe in empowering my clients to find their voice and get started living the life they want.
I have been working as an LPC in Texas since I graduated from Tarleton State University in 2004. I have been privileged to work with many kinds of people with numerous issues they were striving to overcome. I have worked with our Honorable Military Members and First Responders dealing with PTSD and reintegration from tours. I began my career addressing different critical incidents including, robbery, grief, loss, and homicide among a few. I have a passion for working with people who have been affected by traumatic situations and desire to not be identified by a label and as the strong and brilliant person they are. I have worked in treatment facilities including inpatient, residential, outpatient, and private practice.
I practice evidence-based techniques including cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused counseling. Above all of that, I honor and respect the person I am working with and their unique attributes. I would love the opportunity to help you address challenges in your life you are facing and reach your goals. Therapy has serious moments and of course has humorous moments as well when learning about ourselves.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Peggy "Christi" Gryder. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
not enough words to say how she has helped me
Christi is a great listener and gently guides me through questions to get to my own conclusions and discover things for myself instead of just directing the narrative. Thank you.
I had an immediate connection with Christi. She is easy to talk to. I found myself revealing feelings and thoughts usually reserved for someone I’m very close to. She asks questions during our session which guides me to explore myself. I find answers through journaling. I have been in a dark place before meeting Christi.
I cannot praise her enough. Thank you Christi.
She is very attentive and listens to me. She also lets me word vomit about what is going on in my life and my stressor and anxiety. She is very caring and understanding.
I am deeply grateful to have her as my therapist. She is kind, empathetic, and deeply caring. I couldn't have chosen better.
She is an excellent listener and very caring. Combine this with a wealth of knowledge and volumes of competence and I can honestly say I'd recommend her to anyone.
Christi has been wonderful! She was able to hear my concerns each week and help me sort through them, no matter how scattered they were, as well as help me learn coping skills to handle similar issues in the future. I would recommend Christi to anyone looking for a therapist who really listens and is nonjudgmental in their approach.
I’m honestly bummed I won’t be able to work with her anymore since I’ll be moving states, because I’d love to continue our work together!
Christi has been great. She listens and challenges me when necessary. She forces me to think about different perspectives that I wouldn’t have before. I feel like my mental health is so much better than it was when I started.
She is simply a wonderful, strong, supportive person. I adore her.
Christi is an empathetic counselor who is able to challenge patients who ask for it. Her areas of expertise as listed are very reliable, and I appreciate the resources she provides for me to tap into outside of our sessions. If you want a therapist who will challenge your unproductive beliefs and assumptions, and who has a depth and breadth of experience and expertise to draw from, consider Christi.
Christi is great and really listened to me and really heard what i wanted to gain from therapy. she is awesome
Christi has been a lovely support system in a transitional time, she has a great upbeat attitude and genuinely wants you to see the best in yourself and then go make it happen.
She has been great so far! She is getting me together and making me realize some things that I wouldn’t previously think of. I always look forward to our sessions.
Excellent first session
