About Me

Choosing a counselor who can actually understand your situation is very important. I truly believe the successes I have had in counseling stem from having experienced many of life's problems and survived! Clients know when they are in the presence of someone who is genuinely concerned about their situation. Having an educational degree is all well and good in this profession, but being real, and able to empathize with people and their problems is just as important. Aside from holding a Master's degree in Professional Counseling, Ms. Peggy is someone who has lived through many life experiences, which makes her very understanding and empathic. She is able to help you feel very comfortable sharing your most personal information, as to the presenting problem(s) that has/have brought you to the need for counseling. My professional orientation is Cognitive Behavioral Counseling. This means that I believe many mental health issues stem from the way we think and if we can change the thinking we can help the client.

I absolutely love speaking to Peggy! From the moment she answers her American accent and upbeat personality just instantly put me in a good mood. It’s hard to stay sad or anxious when you are talking to her. Peggy is extremely understanding and non judgmental. If I don’t message her in a couple of days she will send heartfelt prayers or ask me how the tasks she has recommended are going which is a great reminder to stick to it when you have forgotten. She feels more like a good friend than a councillor which when talking about vulnerable personal topics makes all the difference! I would recommend Peggy to anyone who feels nervous talking to a councillor because she is both professional but also empathetic and compassionate.

Peggy has been absolutely amazing in identifying and addressing the core issues I have been struggling with. She has provided an excellent and thorough explanation on different concepts giving a new perspective on things.

She has challenged me in difficult ways that have helped me grow more than I could have imagined in the short amount of time I have had in our sessions.

She is also a wonderful listener and offers insight on most topics that I can relate to and understand.

For about 15 years, I have obsessed over the most unimportant nonsense and beat myself up for it. Peggy has helped me to move on and see the bigger picture and I have been able to experience a clear head for the first time in my life.

She is an extremely good listener and her guidance works. I have been able to get out of my head within just a few sessions with her and I am able to experience true happiness again. I cannot thank her enough for her time and patience.

So, this is only my first session, but Ms. Peggy appeared very knowledgeable as well as having her own lived experiences that aided in her ability to empathize with me. She provides me with resources, coping skills and exercises, and specific things for me to work on until we see each other again so that I can work toward my goal.

Peggy is simply amazing and was a perfect match for what I needed during my depression. She is empathetic, realistic, knowledgeable, understanding, encouraging, and has a sunny personality that provides a boost. She worked with me through a book on CBT, and I felt that was a helpful approach. Peggy understood that my thoughts and behaviors were impacting my mood, and she gave me tools I will be able to use in the future. Most of all, she seemed to genuinely care about me. That is a true gift in a counselor. I highly recommend Peggy. If you are struggling, connect with her via video, and she will help you get moving on a path that’s right fir you.

She jumps to conclusions. The most important thing in a counselor is the opposite trait, the ability to listen, to ask good questions.
