About me

Welcome! My name is Phyllis and I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Oklahoma. I have 15 years experience working in the mental health field. I have worked in a variety of settings including residential, outpatient, domestic violence (victim and perpetrator) and addiction. My point being I have array of experience working with a broad range and severity of clinical issues. I have the most experience working with anxiety, depression, and complex trauma/abuse. I also have experience working with family/relationship conflict, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and mild autism.
Using a person-centered approach to therapy simply means I will meet you where you are. And together we can tailor the treatment approach to your needs while being sensitive to how your individual cultural identities and lifestyle choices impact your experience. I primarily use evidence based techniques including cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and solution-focused counseling.
My goal for our session it to provide a warm, welcoming space, free of judgement and rejection. I enjoy helping individuals meet their desired outcomes and would be delighted to help you.
Seeking help for mental health has long been stigmatized in a negative fashion, but today Hats Off To You! for taking the first big step in improving your mental health and I would like to be a part of your journey.

Personally I think Miss Phyllis is pretty super. She is always there to support me, teach me new ways to handle different situations. Miss Phyllis listens and helps me to see what direction to go next. She has never been pushy, will she’s not at all but she knows just the right way to push me. Which sometimes I need to be pushed. I have had several counselors and therapists in the past and Phyllis is the first that I have truly felt with all of my heart listens and hears me. She sees me as me and no one else. She doesn’t try to fix me she’s just there to hold my hand show me new ways to fix myself. The best person to help me is me, but having Phyllis by my side walking with me, I couldn’t ask for a better counselor. So yes Phyllis is amazing. Yes Phyllis is super. So am I and that makes us a super amazing team. I couldn’t ask for a better teammate.
