About me

A great Chinese philosopher by the name of Confucius once said "Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life." This quote is the epitome of my dedication to the field of mental health care. I am a clinically focused social worker, who is most passionate about working with individuals who have been exposed to some form of trauma and are dealing with mental health vulnerabilities such as traumatic stress conditions, anxiety, and depression to name a few. I also help those who are facing life stressors related to family, relationship or parenting conflict, or work, career and school related stress. I have a wealth of experience spanning over the course of nearly a decade in conducting individual and group psychotherapy, treatment planning, psycho-social assessments, mental health consultation, crisis intervention and conducting peer reviewed research to inform my clinical practice. I truly believe in treating the whole person and as a result, I work from a strengths based/person centered approach where I draw on an individual's strengths to improve their overall well-being, as well as to empower and motivate them during the therapeutic process. I am a holistic clinician and I use evidenced based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapies, as well as a psycho-dynamic approaches, biofeedback, creative arts and mind-body based therapies when working with individuals. I strive to improve the social, emotional, psychological and behavioral functioning in as many lives as I possibly can and I am very passionate about working with and building a therapeutic alliance with individuals.

I am also a Medical Service Corps Officer in the United States Army Reserve where I specialize in Sexual Harassment/Assault Response Prevention (SHARP) Victim Advocacy and facilitate mandatory sexual assault training for Soldiers across the nation in an effort to help eradicate the sexual assault epidemic. Due to my desire to continuously nurture and expand upon my therapeutic repertoire, I enjoy honing in on opportunities that can foster my need for research and academic growth, clinical competence, quality teaching and community service. I am a published researcher and I believe in using research to inform the way in which I practice psychotherapy. I am currently pursuing my doctorate in school psychology with a concentration in clinical interventions. My research focus is on how complex trauma impacts biopsychosocial and spiritual outcomes, and how we can build new neural pathways and foster resilience following exposure to trauma through mind-body therapies such as dance/movement therapy and yoga. I am passionate about the work I do and I strive to help individuals to recognize their full potential, as well as to lead happier, healthier and more fulfilling lives!

If you are ready to improve your functioning and take the next step to being your best self, I will help you to get there! I look forward to working with you!

An excellent counselor and an excellent listener.

I my first conversation with Priscilla she was able to assemble the things I was saying and put them together to realize what was wrong and what I needed. In that same week I had seen the counselors and while they were good, Priscilla stood out as being capable.

Prescilla is honestly so understanding and she takes the time to hear me out when I have a call or video session with her. She listens to it all. I can't wait to get better and to live life fearlessly! I really want to get to know who I really am once I get to overcome this. Prescilla is awesome! Thank you guys so much.

Prescilla is doing a good job on trying to understand the depth of my problem without being judgmental. She tries to help me find solutions to my problems, but more than that she help me get in touch with myself again.

Prescilla creates a wonderfully calm, healing space where I feel safe to open up about things that I would be embarrassed to share with others. There is no judgment at all, instead she provides much-appreciated compassion followed by guidance. She is able to identify the root of my issues and exercises I can do to address them. I feel like she is helping me treat the core of my issues, not just the symptoms. Thank you, Prescilla!
