About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Colorado, with six years of experience providing therapy in individual, family, and group settings, to clients ages five through adulthood. I received my Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology from the University of Minnesota in 2013 and my Master of Social Work (MSW) from Augsburg College in 2016.

I enjoy working with clients who have a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, grief and loss, relationship or parenting problems, trauma, and self-esteem issues. My focus has been working with victims of domestic abuse, many of whom have experienced complex or childhood trauma. My previous experience in the human services field also includes working in a residential program for adults, providing case management and therapy to children and their families, and volunteering internationally with victims of human trafficking.

I utilize a client-centered, trauma-informed, family systems approach in my practice and I believe in the importance of creating a safe and supportive therapeutic environment. I often incorporate mindfulness techniques and strategies based in solution-focused and cognitive-behavioral modalities. Working collaboratively with clients is extremely important to me, and I believe that, in the process of feeling heard and understood, individuals are able to discover the tools and strengths they have to move forward. I would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey towards health, healing, and wholeness.

I just started working with Rachel but I can feel a big shift in perspective already. Rachel is a thorough listener and guide, carefully planning out homework or exercises each week based on our learnings and the patterns she is seeing. I’m looking forward to learning new skills to lead a more balanced life, with her guidance.

Rachel has been so kind, gentle, and affirming throughout my entire counseling experience thus far! I feel I can tell her anything and feel so supported by her. She is wonderful at listening and makes sure I feel empowered during the therapeutic process--I feel like a partner and that we're a "team." I trust that, with her help, I really can make progress toward my goals. Thank you, Rachel! :)
