"At the end of the day, we can endure much more than we think we can." -Frida Kahlo
I am an energetic and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor from the state of Florida after earning a Master’s degree in Counseling and Psychology from Troy University. I have held various positions in the helping field for over 14 years, and have 11 years of clinical experience working with diverse populations and ages-including children, adolescents, and adults. I specialize in serving those who have experienced trauma-including, but not limited to: sexual and physical abuse, racial trauma, intimate partner violence, death, grief & loss, incarceration of loved one, and involvement with the foster care system. Furthermore, I have a passion to provide counseling for individuals, couples and families in order that they may resolve related issues they may bring into therapy.
Unfortunately, the darkness in this world is unescapable and whether we experience life’s “big T or little t” traumas, navigating through the aftermath can be complex and daunting. It is courageous of you to seek services to enhance your quality of life. I am passionate about personal empowerment at every age and helping people find light and hope, in order to live their best and most fulfilled lives.
I believe there is both an art and science to therapy. My style is casual, yet professional and ethical, which means that I want to get to know you as a person and understand what challenges you are experiencing in order to partner with you to develop individualized treatment goals. This will be a You-centered therapy experience and reiterate client agency to discern what they need or what is /is not working for you during the therapy process. I am also creative, therefore, my approach is eclectic-including psychoeducation (i.e. symptoms, parenting, etc), talk therapy/evidenced based methods such as, CBT, TF-CBT, DBT, Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems (parts work) & Attachment work, along with Mindfulness interventions and even Art Therapy techniques if that's your, so I look forward to exploring and adjusting to what style best meets your needs and personality. I am also certified as a Level 1 EMDR trained Therapist, if you are interested in this type of therapeutic approach. I am empathic, and direct, which may challenge you to extend yourself beyond what you believed about yourself/the situation. My desire is to create a safe space for you to process and grow; to be a guide for you to identify your own strengths to move you to the next season of your life.
My own story and spirituality inspire me to engage in this work; however, it is important to understand that I do not impose my personal beliefs, as I pride myself on professionalism. I am available to incorporate Christian counseling if you are seeking this type of approach. I am a woman of color (Latina) and I also pride myself on curating a safe space for issues surrounding racial trauma to be discussed. I look forward to meeting you. I am honored to partner with you and come alongside you on your healing journey!

Rachel is amazing.
Rachel is an asset to my life. I could not have made these emotional gains without her.
Rachel is amazing. It took me a while to trust the process but she was so understanding, knowledgeable, patient and helpful.
Just celebrated a year with Rachel! I am so happy I chose to invest in myself and do the work I didn't know I needed. I appreciate Rachel for being a part of my journey. Her expertise and resources have worked wonders for me. I can see the growth in myself and have healed in some areas of my life. I appreciate her honesty and patience with me. She is a real one and I am so happy to continue to work with her.
Rachel introduced me to EMDR therapy that was really effective and allowed me to discover my own connections to my issues at a core level. She guided me safely and effectively to understand the root cause of my issues and then to develop tools to use when needed. I feel empowered and capable of coping with the challenges that have always tripped me up and have found grace and love for myself that has strengthened me. I feel confident and capable of not just coping with life's challenges but thriving with the tools Rachel has helped me develop. She has truly been a blessing!
Rachel has helped me alot with my current situation and also past memories through EMDR. I can not express how great she is.
Rachel has been so good so far. She genuinely cares and attentively listens to you. She shows interest in every detail of your life to make sure to better understand you and your needs. Looking forward to working with her.
I’ve worked with various experienced therapists, but I have to say I think I’ve enjoyed working with Rachel the most. I feel like she’s really focused on listening to me and helping me during our sessions, and she truly cares about my improvement! I was a bit skeptical/hesitant about starting EMDR (a process Rachel recommended we try), and even though we just started it recently, I’ve already realized how beneficial it is and will be. I’m really excited to continue working with a therapist who truly cares about my growth!
Rachel is an amazing counselor who listens and encourages you to be the best version of yourself. She also "remembers" and call you out when your mindset does not align with your goals.
She is very nice and compassionate and offers a lot of great advise and questions that really make you evaluate your situation and you can tell she really cares.
Rachel is kind and caring.
Rachel has truly been a great added resource in my life. She’s genuine, supportive, and actively listens to help piece in deeply rooted/suppressed issues.
Today 6/12/20 I had my second session with Rachel and I start feeling like myself again. After 32 years of sadness and crying, and confusion I have not cried since my first session last week.
She is attentive and speaks with compassion. I feel confident that as I continue therapy with Rachel I will find the ‘WILL’ to regain my individuality.
I would recommend Rachel to anyone who is have a relationship issue. Thanks Rachel.
Rachel has been amazing! This is my first time trying counseling but she has made it so easy to feel comfortable. She is a warm-hearted, friendly, professional counselor who addresses all my needs and lets me go at my own pace.
Rachel has been extremely helpful during this painful situation I am going through. She listens and it shows. She has a great memory for recalling things we spoke about weeks before. I always end up leaving the conversation in a much better mood than before it started. I highly recommend Rachel’s professional services.
In just 3 sessions, I can feel my entire mindframe starting to change. She is attentive, professional, but warm in personality. Absolutely cannot recommend her enough.
