About me

Hello! Have you been struggling to find joy and peace in your life? Or, do you you feel as though you just can’t catch a break and are struggling to make sense of what life has been throwing at you? Carrying the weight of feeling unwell is a heavy burden that often challenges our ability to see the light through the clouds. Having the support of a trusted counselor who may walk with you through your toughest times, can mean the difference between wanting to recover and moving into and through recovery. At BetterHelp, you and I can work together at developing both your hope and change for a better day. We will accomplish this goal by focusing on your unique strengths, while finding solutions that will confidently help you achieve your aspirations and life purpose.

Since working in the field of mental health for over 19 years, I have worked with an array of clients from many walks of life. While I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Wisconsin for 5 years now, I have been working with adults with serious and persistent mental illness since 2001. I have successfully supported individuals with Mood Disorders, Anxiety, Addiction, Personality Disorders and Schizophrenia; I have also worked with individuals at end of life, as well as, those who are grieving the loss of a loved one. But more importantly, I have not only guided my clients through complex mental health conditions, but also through major life transitions, relationship problems and even the challenging world of parenting.

The consistent feedback I have received from my clients over the years, is that when working with me they feel heard, supported and they do not feel judged. My approach is warm, caring and empathic. My philosophy as a therapist and counselor is that you are the expert of your mental health and I am here to guide and support the further development of your personal expertise. We will work on identifying your strengths, areas of desired growth and goals, before moving into finding solutions that will promote positive change in your life. I utilize a range of therapeutic approaches, but tend to lean into a cognitive-behavioral methodology, as well as, solution-focused and person-center therapy.

You have already taken the first major step by exploring BetterHelp--and I know that took both courage and strength; so let’s continue this growth together. I look forward to working with you!

I have been communicating with Rachael for several months now and find her support really helpful, sincere and thoughtful. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone feeling lost and unsure about life and who need a little guidance getting back on track.
