I have been working with people in a social work setting for about ten years but have only had my Master's Degree in Social work for three years. My counseling approach is about honesty. I use compassion, respect and empathy to build a relationship and help clients reach their therapy goals. I have knowledge of most evidence based therapy approaches but do not have one expertise. I believe that evidence based therapy is helpful but everyone client is different therefore I work with the client to decide on therapy modalities.
Additional areas of focus: Addictions, Family conflicts, Trauma and abuse, Sleeping disorders, Parenting issues, Anger management, Career difficulties, Bipolar disorder, Coaching, Compassion fatigue, ADHD
Clinical approaches: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Trauma-Focused Therapy
