About Me

I am a licensed professional counselor in South Carolina, though I am currently living in eastern Pennsylvania, and have over 15 years of experience working in a variety of settings and with a variety of mental health issues. I specialize in depression, mood, and anxiety disorders; relationship, codependency, and boundary issues; sexual abuse, childhood traumas, and other traumas; parenting issues, ADHD, OCD, pregnancy, post-partum depression and post-partum issues, attachment and adoption issues, grief and loss, and women’s issues. I have worked extensively with children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and couples. When working with families, I value empowering parents with parenting skills to help their children thrive. I have worked with couples about relationship concerns, including infidelity and other types of betrayal. I also work with LGBTQ issues and am anti-racist and culturally inclusive.

My primary focus is helping clients work through their life experiences, trauma histories, family dynamics, and relationships to heal their wounded self, feel more empowered, create authentic connection, and become their best selves.

I am holistic in my approach and utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and trauma-informed CBT strategies to help clients identify thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to increase self-awareness and achieve their goals. Additionally, I use solution-focused approaches for short-term problem solving and coaching to help you sort through situational challenges and life transitions. Sometimes we just need to be heard, affirmed, and pointed in the right direction!

I look forward to helping you create healing and growth in your life.

So far my experience with Rachel has been extremely positive. Rachel validates how I feel and provides me some thoughtful ideas for me to explore and understand more. I feel I am definitely handling my situation better, am more in control of myself, and am looking forward to continuing on this journey.
