I am a Licensed Clinical Social worker with extensive experience in many practice settings. I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Winthrop University and then went on to get my MSW from Florida State University. I am licensed in the State of Florida.
As a clinician I have worked with individuals and families from all different backgrounds and with wide-ranging needs. I have worked with adolescents in state care, adolescents and adults with substance abuse problems, sexual and domestic abuse survivors, dual diagnosis clients, hospice clients, and military families. My approach to working with clients typically utilizes an Empowerment model and focuses on helping clients find their strengths and use their own values to solve problems and reach their goals. I have specialized in working with trauma victims and clients who have been sexually assaulted or experienced abuse, either as adults or in childhood. I have also worked with many clients who have been in abusive relationships, and I have worked with both victims of abuse as well as with abusers. I also spent years as a contractor for the Navy, and so I'm familiar with military issues and comfortable working with military families.
I love helping people build confidence in themselves and learn how to communicate their needs in assertive ways to help them create better relationships with their loved ones and make choices they are confident with. I believe that every individual has a unique story that shapes who they are and how they see the world. I aim to understand and honor the unique needs of every individual, and help clients achieve their goals by helping them build the skills they need to break through the barriers they are facing. I believe in the dignity and worth of every unique individual and I focus on helping individuals build confidence in their own value and feel empowered to live an authentic life that reflects their highest potential.

Rachel is brilliant - She has helped me get through various tough times and I couldn't recommend her enough.

As an individual who has had decades in therapy seeking the proper practitioner for my particular needs, I can firmly say that Rachel has exceeded my expectations. She is able to not just listen and advise but also give me a potential third party’s possible pov. More importantly for the though is she can be blunt when needed: something therapists fail to do.
I am very pleased to be a patient of Rachel.

She listens and able to dissect my concerns before giving me options on how to move forward in certain thought processes I can get looped in. She's helped me through the pandemic getting out of my head and the ruminations by being able to talk to her, all the while making me feel 'normal' in all the issues I have discussed with her, giving me confidence, feeling heard and understood. Thanks, Rachel!
