About Me

I am a licensed professional counselor with 14 years experience. I have worked in a variety of settings, these include a hospital setting, the school system, and community mental health. I have worked with clients of all ages with a variety of experiences to include abuse/trauma, mood disorders, relationship issues, family concerns, and self esteem.

My therapeutic approach is to provide solution focused and client centered techniques to empower clients to address day to day stressors and predicaments. I have especially enjoyed working with adolescents who face a variety of personal life challenges. I believe in treating each client with respect and compassion. I have been told I am easy to talk to and help people feel comfortable in opening up about their personal problems and concerns. I will tailor each treatment plan to help individuals achieve the goals they have set for themselves.

Rachel Young has been stability for me. I am often high functioning and do not realize when I need help from an outside source until it is often too late. Having Rachel there helps me begin to find a way to better myself and how to make areas that are weak, manageable again. There are still days where it is tough, but Rachel finds a way to let me talk, listen to me when I make no sense, and really sympathize, empathize, and question why I feel the way I feel. I happily recommend Rachel Young to anyone that needs someone to listen and feel like while it is difficult you are moving forward and picking up the pieces.
