About me

I am a licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor working with children, teens, adults, and families. Having worked with adults with disabilities for much of my life, I am no stranger to human services. I have a significant background in behavioral interventions, and have found that changing behavior requires investigation of the function of behavior.

Within families of all makeups, I believe one person contributes to the whole; in order to heal one member of the family, we enlist the help of its members. Communication is critical, and often times we need to state the obvious. I treat couples and families as teams, all of the members helping build each other up and working toward the same goal. One of my passions is nontraditional and blended families.

I am trained in EMDR therapy and am working toward certification. Some of my target areas of treatment include a trauma focus, anxiety, couple and family healing, stress management, and behavior modification. Treatment is always specific to the client, and I often explore unfamiliar modalities, if I feel something my better help my client.

I love working with children and families involved in kinship and foster care. Blended families require a unique level of understanding, which is a skill I bring to the table. Compassion and understanding make healing possible, and I aim to teach those skills to my clients. Remarkable things can happen in relationships when simple but uncomfortable conversations happen.

She is so easy to talk to. She is able to give me feedback and different ways of dealing with trauma I have had in my life. She helped me let go of anger and allow family member back in after 7 years of not talking to them. It has been a year at it is still great today. She helped me in some of my darkest moments.

Rachelle is an absolutely spectacular therapist. During a very vulnerable and challenging time of my life, she was steadfastly sensitive to my needs and helped me make progress towards every single one of my goals, big and small. Her methods are flexible and honest. I always felt like she listened to me really well, and easily adapted to my requests. Her honesty and openness about herself and her perspective helped me to feel comfortable sharing every aspect of my position in life. She communicates very clearly and sets clear expectations for herself and others. The way that she's honest about what she's capable of and what she'd like to learn more about, and how she's going to take her learning seriously, makes her really stand out as a mental health professional. She genuinely cares so much for her clients, and her follow-through proves that. I am so grateful for the ways that Rachelle has touched my life.
