I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Maryland, with a doctorate in clinical psychology. I've had a broad-based clinical experience helping clients with depression, anxiety, OCD, life transitions, trauma, and relationship issues. My practice is diverse and includes; all ages, and cultural identities. I also work with families in transition. I have a background in conflict resolution and mediation so I'm adept at supporting family members as they navigate difficult changes.
My therapy style is warm and interactive. I see our work together as collaborative. My core values include being client-centered, having empathy, respect, and non-judgment. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic, and ACT. I conceptualize family issues from the systems perspective. I am interested in your narrative and the way you see things. Our dialogue and treatment planning are determined by your specific needs.
It can be challenging to share your feelings with someone you don't know. Trust and rapport will grow from our first meeting together. If you are ready to take the next step, I am here to support and empower you.
I encourage you to reach out and ask questions. This is an important decision.

I've only had a few sessions with her, but I can tell that she hears me and has wonderful advice for what I'm currently handling in me day-to-day life. I always look forward to hearing her insight

I’ve been very skeptical of therapy my whole life and found myself needing to reach out and talk to someone due to some serious life changes. Dr Altman made the process very easy and comforting which was exactly what I needed.
