Hello, I am Ranika Martin a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C). I obtained my undergraduate degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and my Master’s Degree from the University of Maryland School of Social Work. Since graduating with my MSW, I've worked in child welfare through the dept. of Social Services, Juveniles through dept. of Juvenile Justice, and provided counseling for youth, adults, and families throughout Maryland. Through my work, I've has supported individuals, couples and families with complex trauma histories, depression, anxiety, and family dynamics.
I believe in a strength-based approach to treatment and that every individual no matter their walk in life, has unique qualities that drive out the best within themselves. I understand the importance of relationships and believe in the process of trust-building and therapeutic rapport before treatment is initiated. I value creating a safe, non-judgmental and supportive environment for my clients. I help my clients with a variety of issues, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, social skills, self-esteem, grief and loss, domestic violence, bullying, trauma, school and relationship issues, autism spectrum disorder and behavioral issues. My treatment modalities are created based on each individual unique need with a focus on a strength-based perspective while drawing on insight-oriented and cognitive behavioral therapy.
I have a certification in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Plus (CBT+, through the National Center for Evidence-Based Practice in Child Welfare) and training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
I look forward to working with you!
