About me

I received my Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Western Michigan University and also hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Education, from Grand Valley State. My formal education along with my professional work experience has prepared me to counsel teens, young adults, adults, families, and groups of all ages.
I am licensed in Michigan as an LPC - Licensed Professional Counselor. I have over 15 years of experience working as a Psychotherapist, Crisis Counselor, and Family Specialist. My areas of experience are working with those who suffer from Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Parenting concerns, Career Challenges, Sexual Abuse, ADHD, and OCD as well as Grief. I have extensive experience working with those who have survived trauma in the form of sexual abuse and families that are in crisis.
My counseling style embraces the principles of Positive Psychology which is based upon the belief that we should be as concerned with a person’s strengths as with their weaknesses. This approach takes a client-centered approach; building the best things in an individual’s life, as well as in repairing the worst. I use a kind yet direct approach with my clients working in a non-judgmental manner meeting you directly where you are in life. In this way, I assist you in working on personal goals that will bring you where you want to be. I have a strong personal belief in healing. I work with my clients using Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral, Solution-Focused, Psychodynamic and Mindfulness Techniques, using tools from these theories to custom fit your healing.
Reaching out for help and guidance can be scary and it takes courage to make that first call. I am here to use my professional, personal and educational experience to work with you; together we can start where you are and go forward to where you want to be. Healing is not only real it is full of endless possibilities. Let's explore them together. I'd like to be there to support and empower you.
I hope to hear from you.
