I am a licensed clinical social worker in New York who practices therapy from a humanistic perspective. I believe that good therapy should go beyond labels and symptoms and tap in deeper into a person's needs and drive toward living your ideal life, ”thriving versus surviving”. Good therapy should create a connection to your purpose, a connection to others, and a development of resilience to the stressors, losses, and important transitions we go through at any stage of life.
I have a passion for working with others to create this ideal life, while supporting people experiencing anxiety, depression, seeking support with dating/relationships, and have experience in addictions. My practice is also LGBTQIA-affirmative.
- Stress, Anxiety
- Self esteem
I also have experience in Addictions, Relationship issues, Trauma and abuse, Grief, Career difficulties

Raymond has been extremely supportive throughout the whole counseling experience. I feel he understands me and offers insight that I would not have arrived at myself. He is unusually astute and has a very sharp analytical ability. I have also felt consistently supported and heard and never judged, and he has helped me through major transitions in my life including moving country. I am very blessed to have found him.
Raymond is a thoughtful, caring, and wonderful therapist. He asks great questions, which have helped me to explore my own issues in a more creative way.
Raymond is a great counselor. He helps puts things in perspective and offers outlooks and insights that allows me draw alternative solutions for my problems.
I didn't really know how working with a counselor online would be. But it has really been an awesome experience because I was assigned Raymond Batista (LCSW) as my counselor. Raymond is really understanding and insightful. He takes the time to read and reflect on what I have written about my life and concerns. He asks really good questions that cause me to think more deeply about my experiences and see them from a different perspective. Sometimes I am too close to an issue to have any perspective at all. Raymond helps me to step outside of my own head and see my life through his eyes. The conversations I have had with him are invaluable and have helped me to really make positive changes in the way I relate to my family and in the way I approach my own issues. He is really the best!
Very helpful and responsive. Acknowledges, reflects and suggests according to patient needs.
Talking with Raymond has truly helped me gain prespective on things that I was concerned about. He brought an interesting analysis to each step of the conversation and has made his knowledge consistently available to me. His help, his words, and his proactive helping attitude are exactly what I needed to help get me through.
Raymond is very easy to talk to, which is exactly what you want in a counselor. He tailors his approach in a way that works very well for me. Our messages and conversations allow me to see insights into my thoughts and opportunities to identify important ideas to discuss, think about and work on. I've worked with a few counselors in traditional settings, and have never been anywhere near as comfortable as I am with Raymond.
In short, Ray is great. Insightful, inquisitive and makes me think about things... So far, so good. I would appreciate more feedback in regards to his thoughts on me, my goals, my progress, any other things I should or should not be doing to attain my goals. I am not looking for a diagnosis on my personality, but rather reassurance that I am on the correct path. :)
