About me

Hi! My name is Rebecca Ramer (Becky), I am a licensed professional counselor, LPC, licensed to provide counseling by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners, with a master’s degree in counseling from Webster University. As your therapist, I believe it’s important that I meet you where you are. My philosophy is that you are doing the best that you can and “when you know better you will do better.” Maya Angelou. I engage each client from a place of acceptance, non-judgment and with unconditional positive regard. I believe that my role is to hold a safe space for you as you process through your grief, loss, trauma, disappointments and hurt. While therapy will assist your growth, it can also be a painful process of self-discovery, and change is never easy.

I specialize in treating clients with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, reprogramming negative thought patterns and addressing family dysfunction that may be interfering with your ability to live the life you deserve. My primary approach to counseling is an integration of person-centered, mindfulness-based, DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). My scope of practice includes working with adults, couples, families, and teens. Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked at a women and children veteran homeless shelter. In addition, I have volunteered long term at a suicide hotline. I am skilled in helping individuals struggling to cope with mood challenges, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, codependency, self-esteem issues, and trauma.

Self-acceptance is a sacred journey, and when we fully accept ourselves, we are then able to accept others. I believe that the relationship between you as the client, and me as your therapist is essential to your positive experience in therapy. “If you can’t face it, you can’t heal it. If you don’t say it, you will never come to grips with it.” Iyanla

I meet my clients where they are at in the moment. I assume that you are doing the best that you can, with the tools you have learned. I am open, empathetic and desire to be attuned to the uniqueness of each person. I enjoy working with all nationalities, sexual orientations, gender, and religious affiliation. My job is to help you heal, not to judge your choices. I will provide a supportive space that fosters trust, respect, healthy attachments with others, while you heal the issues that have long held you back. Together we will construct a toolbox of healthy skills that will help you to live your best life; one filled with self-empowerment and self-validation.
I look forward to going on this journey with you, and working with you to achieve your goals, let's get started, you deserve the best life you can create.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Rebecca (Becky) Ramer. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Becky has literally saved my life by truly understanding me... she has given me self talk strategies and different thought pattern exercises that have made me a stronger and more aware person. I’m so so so grateful to have found her. I’ve been to so many different therapists and none have helped me like Becky has.

Becky is one of the most amazing people I could have every hoped to have 'met' in my life. She is kind and genuine and so thoughtful in the way she speaks. Her positive attitude and approach to counseling has been so incredible helpful . I never would have thought I would have found someone like her when I started BetterHelp, I had hopes but she has exceeded all of them! She continues to challenge me, in an appropriate way, that makes me think about things in a way that I can relate to and allows me to make new connections for myself. I don't think I have enough words to adequately explain the gratefulness I feel for having her as a part of my healing journey and life. She is an amazing person and a wonderful counselor!

Becky has been the most knowledgeable and supportive counselor I've encountered. I feel like I'm able to work through old wounds and become the best version of myself thanks to her support and guidance.
