Hi! I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in Kentucky and Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado - with six years of experience in Kentucky, Alaska, and Colorado. I have worked with individuals, families, and couples in private practice, outpatient, and community mental health. I have helped people cope with the uncertainty, fear, and loss that comes with COVID-19. I have worked with anxiety and depression. I have helped individuals who feel paralyzed by racial injustice, domestic violence, trauma, and spiritual crisis. I have worked with people who want to find ways to better cope with stress and relationship distress. I feel honored to work as a counselor to provide a space to help people air out the issues that are bothering them and to support them in moving towards wholeness, empowerment, and peace.
The techniques I use include: Gestalt Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Behavioral Activation Technique (BAT), Person Centered Recovery Planning (PCRP), Feminist Psychology, Multicultural, and intersectionality perspectives, Psychodrama and improv therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Solution Based Therapy, somatic, dance, and movement therapies, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Trauma Reprocessing Method, mindfulness, and nature-based therapy. Evidence based methods and treatment planning are utilized to avoid “forever therapy” and to better help employ your abilities to address the issue at hand and complete therapy. And come back when you are ready to work again.
My approach is eclectic. I strive to learn evidence based methods on an ongoing basis, to keep up to date on the current clinical, peer reviewed literature and material, receive supervision, and apply the most effective tools, appropriately matched to you.
Patients say that I am compassionate, personable, and effective. My focus is to understand your needs and hopes, to help you touch the places that are bothering you with compassion and empathy, and help those places integrate towards wholeness, peace, and acceptance.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Rebecca Winter. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
From day one, Rebecca has been AMAZING. It is so easy to open up to her. I always feel safe with her, and I'm confident in her ability to help me work through the issues I want to address. She is kind and gentle, while also highly capable and helpful. We can work through the really deep, tough stuff as well. I always feel lighter after our sessions. Working with her has me recommending BetterHelp to ALL of my friends because it has been such a positive experience! Thank you, Rebecca!
In going through the darkest period of my life Rebecca has been a wonderful support and guiding light. She has consistently gone above and beyond with navigating care, and I would highly recommend her to anyone.
Rebecca is amazing. She is empathetic, compassionate and an excellent listener. She utilizes various tools and methods to assist in healing. She is by far the best therapist I have had the pleasure of working with.
Ms Winters is An amazing Therapist
Great person, friendly and supportive, I think it is a great match
She is amazing and very helpful
Rebecca has been very kind and caring. I've been with her for over a year now. Unfortunately, she notified me she couldn't be my therapist due to me being in California and her not being from here. I am sad about this. However, she's been great.
It's only been a couple of weeks so far, but I enjoy all her input and advise. She has already given me so many helpful tools to move forward. She is wonderful and kind, and I am so excited to continue my mental health journey with her.
Rebecca is a super talented therapist who draws stuff out that needs addressing in a gentle and caring way. I came to her with issues with self-esteem and divorce and felt listened to and appreciated. She's also a great cheerleader, but not in a cheesy way.
I have only met with Rebecca a few times so far but she is helping transform my life and mentality greatly! Would suggest this for anyone!!!
She is really great, listens ti me and helps talk me through things. She always helps me and we make a plan to improve every time.
Shes very attentive and finds ways to relate
Rebecca is wonderful!
Very helpful and kind. I appreciate her so much.
Rebecca has been very thoughtful and kind. She has followed many of our conversations with useful research-driven tools to help me work through issues I’ve wanted to address.
Rebecca is kind, smart and compassionate. She makes you feel heard and also gives you points to reflect on, tactics to utilize in getting more in tune with yourself, and a game plan as to how to move through difficulties in life. She makes you feel heard and also always gives you something to take away from each session. She is exactly what I was looking for!
Rebecca is very easy to talk to and she approaches solutions from a perspective I’m likely to utilize and remember. After every session with Rebecca I feel better about myself and more confident in dealing with everyday struggles!
Rebecca is an amazing therapist! She holds space for you wherever you are in life & will guide you to a better mindset! I have had a brighter outlook on life because she offered me the tools to create that for my life.
Rebecca has really helped me over the last 5-6 months. I have tried therapy in the past both in person and via this app but never felt a connection to the work. She has provided me with that connection. The work we are doing together is and will change my life for the better.
I have been getting counseling from Rebecca for a few months now and I honestly look forward to our sessions every week. I really feel like she is equipping me with valuable tools to navigate through my life situations much more smoothly.
I’m happy that the first match I got on betterhelp was with Rebecca as she’s been incredible with helping me navigate through some new and old territory.
Rebecca has continued to help me work through my struggles and come up with new solutions and new personal revelations. I look forward to every session.
Rebecca is so kind, empathetic, and helps me process things in ways that are easy to follow. I have discovered so many things about myself with her as a guide. Easily the best counselor I’ve ever had.
Rebecca is kind, empathetic, and really strives to understand her clients. I also like the way in which she structures her approach to create metrics and measurements to track the therapy journey. Sometimes therapy can be like weight loss; you don’t see the incremental progress so you have to rely on the before and after pics. Rebecca is great; would highly recommend her to others.
