I have been a social worker for more than 30 years and enjoy working with people when they are struggling with an issue. The thought that I will be part of your journey is exciting for me. I have worked 15+ years with adults and children experiencing chronic illness and another 10 years working with the TX Army National Guard. In working with the military, I had the honor of working not only with the Service member or Veteran, but also with their family members. Regardless of who I have worked with, there are some specific areas I have addressed. These areas include: grief and loss, depression, difficulty adjusting to a new situation or event. Many things take adjustments, even things that are "good" and we are excited about. These might include marriage, going off to college, a new job or a new baby. Others may or may not not be as exciting for us, things like: moving, separations, death and many more. Often we need a little support to help make the adjustment go as smoothly as possible.
My counseling style is easy going and supportive. I believe it is most effective to examine where you are now and where you want to go. I help my clients build a path from one to the other, if you don't know where you want to go we can explore that together. At times we might look into the past and see how that is affecting where you are but it often is not critical to moving forward. I am happy to work with anyone who wants the support I have to offer. I have no hesitancy when working with any race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identification or other "labels" we put on people. It is my personal belief we all have value and something special to offer this world, we have the right to be in the best place possible to bring that forward.
I have a Master's degree from the University of Texas and am Certified by the National Association of Social Workers as a Military, Veteran and Trauma Clinical Social Worker (MVF-CSW). Helped me quite a lot. This has been better than traditional therapy to be very honest.
Renee is easy to talk to and a great listener. She offers insightful, practical guidance, shares useful resources, and asks questions that help you to understand yourself and your situation better. I have enjoyed working with her the last few weeks.
She's very nice and has helpful worksheets. She has a way of putting things into perspective. She makes me feel brave. I'm very thankful for her.
Love Renee Senn! She has helped me so far with my issues, the different worksheets as well as some exercises have really made a difference. I have only talked to her in a short period of time but can tell she will be my go to therapist when I need some help.
I was paired up with Renee and she is awesome! She clearly has a lot of experience with a range of issues and severity of said issues. I appreciate the quickness of her response time, as well as her understanding of my pace. I will continue working with Renee for as long as I feel I need and I'm very happy to have a therapist I can finally trust.
Renee is attentive, supportive and knowledgeable. Her recommendations and insight are always helpful and practical.

Renee is very helpful and has great listening and problem solving options.
So far I have had two sessions with Renee Senn. I can say that she is a good listener and able to demonstrate empathy.
Renee is extremely insightful and wise. After only a few sessions she is equipping me with useful tools and practical steps necessary for dealing with my anger-management issues. Additionally, she is guiding me through the process to mend stressed family relationships that have resulted.
She is so supportive and sends me practical articles, links and worksheets. If I'm out of touch for a day, she reaches out and I love that she cheers me on. I feel a lot of support from her and like the practical tips and suggestions!
She has been very undestanding of my issues and has help to guide me in the right direction.
Dr. Renee has been so helpful with the loss of long time friend and now is helping with my father fighting cancer. I highly recommend her to anyone and everyone.
This is my first counselor and so far it's working out. I would recommend if you want a pragmatic approach.
