About me

Welcome. My name is Renetta Albea-Beard. I am a licensed clinical social worker. I have 20 years of experience in working in the mental health field. I have worked with young adults, physically disabled, 65 and older, middle aged, couples, and families. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, parenting problems, grief and loss, identity, personality disorders, domestic violence, sexual abuse, trauma, and relationship issues.

I am a counselor that 100% believe in meeting all people 'at their current stage in life'. I work with you as a team, as you take the journey to reach your treatment goals. I highly believe in self-determination. I believe each of us are unique with our own individual challenges with the ability to make positive changes. Therefore, I hold a non-judgmental attitude because I believe that if I judge you, that hinders me from assisting you, as well as your ability to be open and honest, in order to go through the process of making positive changes. I hold the attitude that 'it takes strength to reach out for help from a total stranger', therefore, I never see anyone as being weak. My goal is to assist you in developing the skills you need to overcome any situation, problem, or circumstance that you may be facing. I truly believe that "It is OK to not be OK".

I treat everyone with dignity and respect. I am very compassionate, empathetic, patient, and warm. I respect your privacy and your right to self-determination. I am here to listen.

I will support and empower you on your journey. I make contact with all my clients within 24 hours.

Renetta has been exactly what I needed in my life right now. Even in just a few sessions she has helped me to do a tremendous amount of inner work. She is kind and gentle in her approach, really listens to what you have to say, and asks great thought provoking questions
