I am a licensed professional counselor with over 30 years of both teaching and counseling experience. I have taught a variety of undergraduate and graduate level courses in psychology and counseling. My counseling background includes inpatient, outpatient, and intensive outpatient settings. I currently run a private practice where I work primarily with adults. My specialties include depression, anxiety, stress management, relationship issues, loss & grieving, trauma/PTSD, sexual assault & domestic violence, self-esteem, and mindfulness training.
I firmly believe that counseling can be helpful whenever you are grappling with a life, work, or specific mental health concern, and these issues are causing pain or upset that is interfering with your day-to-day functioning and quality of life.
My approach to counseling is client-centered, which means that the focus is on what you want and need from the process. This involves listening to your concerns and working together to develop a better overall understanding of them, as well as exploring effective strategies to manage them.
The goal is to pinpoint obstacles that are in the way of living fully and effectively, and discover solutions tailored for your unique problems, concerns, and approach to life.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Rita Udelhoven. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Rita did a really good job. On time and patient with technical my technical issues. It was very helpful
I have so far only had 3 sessions with Rita, and intend to continue, but I can already highly recommend her. She has a wonderful way that is both professional and personable, is extremely easy to talk to, a great listener and has clear, easy to understand explanations for everything. She is already giving me tools that I can put into practise. This is the first time I've felt understood, respected and not at all judged by a counselor.
