I'm a warm and caring Licensed Marriage and Family therapist. I have been practicing for 23 years. I believe in building a trusting therapeutic relationship by paying attention to each client's personal needs in a compassionate and collaborative manner. You are the one who has taken a courageous step in meeting a challenge or challenges that life has given as an opportunity to grow as a human being and as your individual self.
I utilize a solution-focused approach that attempts to work in collaboration with the client by asking questions that allows she/he to access hi/her own inner resources and abilities to build the best solution for each person. I also teach mindfulness skills that can help reduce stress and anxiety. I'm humanistic in my approach to my life and my work as a psychotherapist.
I have had experience with a full range of issues: from Bipolar to addiction; from couples counseling to family sessions; I have worked with ages from 5 years old to 80 years old. I have worked with different sexual and gender orientations.
I believe in the ability of people being able to get back on track in their life with some assistance that is appropriate for each person I work with.

I find Robert to be very personable and easy to open up to which is not always an easy thing for me to do. He is a down to earth kind of person that really listens and helps you understand the emotions you may be experiencing and how to work through them.
I feel comfortable communicating with Robert.
Robert has been phenomenal! He's extremely kind, patient, and has helped tremendously in the problems I came to him for.
I felt very comfortable talking to Robert. Usually those from an older generation treat me like I'm just "simply a milennial" but I felt very valued as a person when I talked to Robert. He's wise and open-minded and very experienced with what he does.
Robert Bowman is an amazing counselor. He is very funny, caring, kind and resourceful. He understands where you’re coming from and he’s very relatable. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a genuine counselor that they can relate to and confide in.
I just want to thank him again for giving me the boost I needed and the positive reminder to stay true to myself. It’s okay to take a little extra time to figure out what you actually want to do in life and to do what ultimately makes you happy. Thank you. I would give 10 stars if I could!
