I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State Of California (license number LCS20100) with nearly 30 years of experience. I have been professionally licensed by the Board of Behavioral Sciences in California since December of 2000. I have worked in Illinois, Los Angeles, and I have international experience after having worked in the United Kingdom.
The theoretical approaches I utilize include developmental theory, humanistic theory and systems theory. Further, I have years of experience using cognitive behavioral therapy.
I have had many years of experience treating people across the lifespan. I have provided care for a vast array of human conditions such as adjustment disorders and parenting issues as well as years of experience serving clients with more complex mental health issues including depression, anxiety, bi-polar disorder, and schizophrenia. I have had a great deal of experience managing therapeutic programs, supervising trainee therapists and facilitating trainings on a wide array of topics.
Because I have great respect for a person's unique journey, I am prepared to start the focus of our treatment sessions where ever you are in your unique journey. I am also prepared to help you rid yourself of any shameful feelings so you can be empowered to soar !
I work very hard to create a safe, warm, and accepting environment within every counseling session that I facilitate with a client. Therefore, you control the content of what we discuss and you always have the power to decide what issues that we explore and to what degree we explore those issues. Your safety within the counseling session is my number one concern because a safe environment is essential to discovery, personal growth and healing.
