About me

My way of working is rooted in humanism, exploring subjective experience and embracing a person-centred approach, incorporating empathic understanding, unconditional positive regard, and being genuine. I am trained in the practice of Transactional Analysis and in using Gestalt Therapy. I also have experience as a facilitator in mindfulness-based psychotherapy groups and help organise and participate in workshops and seminars. My specialisation is in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which is a part of my practice, depending on your needs. This innovative technique has allowed me to help clients navigate trauma, anxiety, and related conditions, leading them to a place of healing and growth. Understanding the intricate interplay between mind and body, I empower my clients to rewrite their narratives and embark on a journey of self-discovery.

I use EMDR therapy to help people work through their most challenging experiences. Hence, they can live more rewarding lives. It is a form of therapy that helps people heal from trauma or other distressing life experiences. Experiencing trauma can block the brain's natural way to recover from painful events. It is designed to reactivate this natural healing process through alternating eye movements, sounds, or taps, known as bilateral stimulation. I have seen how powerful this therapy can be for my clients.

I also work as a clinical specialist managing clinics for a large NHS Trust in southeast England, developing and implementing treatment paths for those with mental health challenges.

In addition to my clinical work, I've served on the planning committee of the International Humanities Conference for many years. This involvement reflects my belief in the profound connection between mental health and the broader human experience.

My approach is rooted in personalised care, recognising that every individual's journey is unique. Through collaboration and understanding, I craft a safe space for clients to explore their emotions and challenges, igniting lasting positive change. With a wealth of experience and dedication to balance, harmony, and well-being, I am committed to providing skilled help while walking alongside you on your path to a more balanced way of being towards recovery, revitalisation and healing.

Robert is a wonderful therapist and shows that he really cares and really does listen to what you have to say. He's always on time and always keeps you in the loop if for some reason he can't make it. He's helped me a lot through my traumas and beliefs about myself and really helped my confidence going forward.

Like the lovely uncle you never had and open enough to explain something where it is needed and stay silent when that is the best way forward.
Smart as a fox, kind and wise as an old elephant and as strong as a gorilla when you need holding… if anyone can this man can…

Robert has been an exceptionally helpful and trusted therapist. I feel as I have grown so much as a person and I’m so much the better for my experience with him. I cannot recommend his services or demeanor, highly enough. He is kind, listens and gives thoughtful feedback, and gives concrete examples of steps to take to work through challenging points. It has been an absolute pleasure for me to spend time with Robert and my only sadness is that my sessions are coming to an end!

At first I didn't really believe that filling out the simplest questionnaire would in any way help me find the most suitable specialist. After getting matched with Robert, all my doubts were erased. He always listens, goes straight to the point, and understands what my problem is without any additional explanations. I usually have difficulties talking to people let alone opening my true feelings to them, but Robert somehow makes the conversation comfortable for me and I feel some relief after every session. I couldn't recommend this therapist enough
