Robert Scheifer, LMFT
About me
Over my 20+ years of counseling, I’ve worked with people with a wide range of concerns, including fears and anxiety, depression, grief and loss, parenting, career and work challenges, and a host of relationship issues. I’ve worked with adults in private practice, in a treatment program for those with delusional disorders, incarcerated adults, and military service members and their families.
Over those same years, I’ve learned and worked with a few approaches such as psychodynamic, cognitive and behavioral, solution-focused, strength-based, Jungian psychology, and hypnosis.
My approach with clients is to first meet the client with acceptance and empathy. From there, I try to understand the history that has influenced their current problem. Together with the client, I work with them to find practical ideas for change, whether in behavior, thought, or strategy, and brainstorm with the client on what they need now.
I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California and look forward to working with you.
