About me

My name is Tommy Williams. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been in the mental health field for 33 years. I have a Master's Degree in Social Work and a Bachelor of Arts in Bible and Psychology. I have been active in ministering to the local church in a lay capacity since 1976. My professional experience is broad. I have worked with children and families both in the home and in the school. I have worked with children with autism and mental retardation as well as other behavior disorders. I spent 5 years working as a drug and alcohol counselor. I am a former drug addict and have been clean for 50 years. I also work with people who suffer from bipolar, depression, and anxiety. I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at the age of 40. I know what it is like to suffer from a mental illness. I have learned to make my life "Handicap Accessible." My approach to therapy is to look at the individual as made up of four parts - a body - our thoughts - our relationships - our spiritual life. If we neglect either of these areas we encounter problems. As a therapist, I address each area to help the individual to understand the importance of living a balanced life.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Robert Williams. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Tommy is a great therapist. He is kind, understanding, and validating. My partner was diagnosed with leukemia, which was my initial reason for starting with Better Help. Tommy helped me through one of the toughest times in my life thus far, while also helping me uncover things about myself that I didn’t even realize I had going on. He’s not the type that just tells you what you want to hear, he tells you what you NEED to hear, with great delivery. Over a year later, I am now WAY more accepting of myself, my whole self. I am a better partner, friend, and person thanks to Tommy’s help. I will always appreciate him!

Robert is a great listener. Very well spoken and understand how to communicate in a variety of ways. He’s not forceful, or demanding. He has plethora of wisdom and he understands how to get into the untapped parts of your mind to get those things out that we tend to shy away from. He did me a great service. Literally changed my life.
