Dr. Valdez is a very supportive counselor who not only listens and validates my feelings but also takes time to explain possible reasons why I am feeling depressed and gives me many tools/ exercises to overcome it. Learning about depression, what causes anxiety, and logic behind my body's and mind's expressions has helped me overcome the stigma that comes with the word depression. I no longer feel like a broken and crazy person. I am hopeful and I know that what I am feeling is temporary, just like a cold. My mind is having a rough time processing all that is happening around me but with the help of exercises and medication, I am on track to overcome depression. My sessions with Dr. Valdez have made a world of a difference; his support and guidance have made me feel like myself again and full of hope!
