About me

Hello!

I’m Robin. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Texas (LMFT). I specialize in helping couples, families and individuals find balance while promoting positive, effective communication skills. I believe that healthy relationships are built on effective communication skills, acceptance, support, and trust. While creating an environment of warmth and safety, I help families and individuals of all ages explore their concerns. I have experience and a heart for working with children, adolescents and adults who have experienced trauma, loss, grief, abuse, neglect, adjustment issues, personal growth and relationships.

During the therapeutic process, I mostly incorporate the Narrative and Solution Focused approaches. I find focusing on solutions and positive change to be most effective. With children and adolescents, I also may utilize therapy with play or art to help them identify, process, understand and appropriately express their thoughts, feelings and emotions.

My Credentials Include:
 Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Marriage and Family Therapists
 Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Texas Wesleyan University
 Certificate in Systemic Family Therapy, Melbourne, Australia
 Certificate in Integration of Sexual Health, Sydney, Australia
 Certificate in Working with Victims of Sexual Abuse, Sydney, Australia
 Certificate in Fundamentals of Therapy with LGBTQ Clients
 Certificate in Trauma Informed Care

Due to a desire to continually learn, I take my professional growth seriously. I enjoy keeping up-to-date on the latest literature and research studies as time permits, along with engaging in training for different issues and approaches.
Other specialties include psychoeducation regarding positive parenting skills, the cycle of domestic violence, Consultation, Psychosocial Assessments, Grief, Loss, Trauma, Anger Management and Frustration/Tolerance.

I believe in a collaborative approach to therapy where we will be working together on how treatment will best proceed. It is my goal to treat you with warmth, acceptance, positive regard (and sometimes humor). While I understand that it takes courage to seek assistance with your personal struggles, I will do my utmost to earn your trust.

I look forward to us working together on positive resolutions!
