About me

Hi, my name is Robin Pannell, and I am happy you are reaching out for help.
Many times, once a person has sought therapy, they realize what a great resource it is and wished they had requested help earlier in their lives.
Although I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2001, I spent the first 15 years working for the Courts completing custody evaluations. During the past 5 years, I have worked with individuals of all ages, as well as worked with some couples and families. Many of my clients have presented with concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, life changes, self-esteem issues, parenting issues, and trauma history. Many have found that working through the issue they presented allows for growth in other areas of their lives as well.
My approach with clients is client-centered and collaborative. However, I have found the most important aspect of therapy is the connection between the therapist and the client. I pride myself on my ability to engage well with clients, listen well, and respond with compassion. I am trained in 6 different evidenced-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Brainspotting, Emotional Processing Therapy, and Internal Family Systems, which allows me to be able to customize how I work with each client according to their needs. I base goals and objectives on what changes each client would like to make in order to live a happier life. In my work, I often use books, helpful apps, and journaling in order maximize my work with clients. I also make use of analogies, quotes, and affirmations. Two of my favorite quotes are: “Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass; it is about learning to dance in the rain,” by Vivian Greene, and “Remember, no one can make you feel inferior without your consent,” by Eleanor Roosevelt.
I truly love to see people learn and grow to live happier lives.
